Directions: From Bangor I-395, take the exit for Ellsworth/Bar Harbor (Rt. 1A). Follow Rt. 1A into Ellsworth until you come to the Main Street intersection with a traffic light (an empty lot will be on the right). Continue down Route 1A (High Street), straight through 4 sets of traffic lights (not counting the one at Main Street). Take a right turn at the fifth set of lights - this is the Beechland Road. Avery Lane will be on your right directly after a large, well-landscaped brick church (Latter Day Saints). Directions: Located at 66 Bridge Street in Bucksport at the Jewett School on the corner of Bridge Street and Broadway. Head to Bucksport following Route 1 out of Ellsworth. Hannaford is on your left just before the traffic light. After the traffic light, Bridge Street is on the right. Follow Bridge Street to the end. The Jewett School is the building on the left. It is 20 miles from Ellsworth and takes approximately 20 minutes.

Enrollment characteristics: Six classrooms. Three classrooms are for preschoolers, 3 and 4 year olds. Three are for infants and toddlers aged 6 weeks to 3 years. Slots are for children needing full-day Head Start/child care, Early Head Start/child care or private pay child care. The administrative offices for the agency are housed with the child care center.

Directions: Follow Route 1 from Ellsworth to Milbridge. In Milbridge, turn right on Route 1A by the Bar Harbor Bank and proceed approximately five miles east to Harrington. The Center is on the left, a small white farmhouse with a u-shaped driveway. Drive time from Ellsworth is approximately 1 hour.

Turn right on School Street, #45 is the first building on your left across from the fire station and town office. Drive time from Ellsworth is approximately 2 hours.

From Ellsworth: Take Route 1 North to Machias. Go across Machias River Bridge and take a left onto Route 192 North. Follow to stop sign. At stop sign continue on Route 192 North for exactly 1.2 miles. Center is set back on the right hand side of the road.
From Calais: Take Route 1 South to Machias. In Machias take right onto Route 1A South. Follow Route 1A South until intersection with Route 192. Take right onto Route 192 North and follow for exactly 1.2 miles. Center is set back on the right hand side of the road.

Enrollment: A mix of 20 3 and 4 year olds
Model: Two classrooms - - An Early Head Start/child care classroom and a pre-school classroom. Services are offered full day, full year; however there are part year Head Start preschool slots available.
Schedule: Child care 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head Start only 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Directions: Follow Rt. 1 from Ellsworth to Columbia. In Columbia, turn right on to Rt. 187. Continue on Rt. 187 to a stop sign in Jonesport, across from the Lamb of God Church. Turn left and proceed along Main Street. At the Jonesport Post Office, turn right and the building is on the left. Drive time from Ellsworth is approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Directions: From Ellsworth take Rt. 172 to Blue Hill. Go through the village of Blue Hill, staying on Rt. 172. At the intersection of Rt. 172 and Rt. 15 turn left. After crossing the Deer Isle/Stonington bridge travel is approximately 12 miles. Stonington Head Start is on the right side of the road, a white house with a large play yard. Drive time is approximately one hour from Ellsworth.

Signs for both Sullivan Head Start and Sullivan Town Office are displayed. Drive time from Ellsworth is approximately 20 minutes.
