Any certified child care home is eligible to apply for CACFP under the supervision of Child and Family Opportunities, Inc. The CACFP is offered to clients regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, religion and/or disability. While the child care homes receive reimbursement for the total number of meals served to the children each month (reimbursement rates based on a two Tier pricing system), the Head Start and child care centers receive reimbursement based on a “free,” “reduced,” or “paid” price scale. A family’s size and income determine these reimbursement rates. Child and Family Opportunities currently sponsors homes in Waldo, Hancock and Washington counties. Eligibility for the program is determined as follows:
