Service Area: Greater Calais Area

Enrollment: 1 classroom of 16 children, 3 and 4 year olds, Head Start and Public Pre-K

We actively encourage and facilitate participation of children of all abilities and their families. Our staff is trained in working with children with disabilities and local service providers to ensure that all children’s individual needs are met.

Calendar: September – May, 4 mornings per week

Schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Meals: Healthy breakfast and lunch, served in the classroom family style, with teachers and children eating together; meals provided at no cost to parents.

Fees: There are no fees for Head Start or Pre-K programs

Transportation: While CFO does not provide transportation to any of the Head Start programs, we do have some funds available to assist Head Start eligible families with the cost of transportation.

Directions: Turn right on to Rt. 1 heading towards Calais. You will end up on North Street. Take a right turn just before Burger King. You are now on Garfield Street. The school is on the right hand side.

Enrollment: 1 Preschool Classroom of 18 children, 3 and 4 year olds, Child Care, Head Start and Public Pre-K.

1 Infant/Toddler Classroom of 8 children, 6 weeks to 3 years old, Child Care and Child Care/Early Head Start

We actively encourage and facilitate participation of children of all abilities and their families. Our staff is trained in working with children with disabilities and local service providers to ensure that all children’s individual needs are met.

Calendar: Open all year for Child Care and Child Care/Early Head Start; September – May for Head Start and Public Pre-K

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for Child Care;

Meals: Healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack served in the classroom family style, with teachers and children eating together; meals provided at no cost to parents.

Fees: Children enrolled in our Head Start or Pre-K programs attend at no cost

To assist families in paying for child care, we accept State of Maine child care subsidies including Voucher, ASPIRE, and Transitional Child Care (TCC). We also have a sliding fee and an in-house subsidy for eligible families. Call our enrollment office to get answers to all of your questions about subsidies and fees.

Transportation: While CFO does not provide transportation to any of the Head Start programs, we do have some funds available to assist Early Head Start/Head Start eligible families with the cost of transportation.

Directions:After entering Calais, proceed through 2 sets of lights. On the second set, bear right onto South Street. At the end of South Street, turn right (River Road) and go until you come to the Washington County Community College where the Center is located.

Tide Mill Organic Farm Visits St. Croix!

A big thank you to Jane, Paige, Inez, and Chloe of Tide Mill Organic Farm in Edmunds for coming to visit! They taught us about what they do on their farm and about growing our own food. We had so much fun!!
